Species We See
Guinea Pigs, Hamsters, Gerbils, Rabbits, Mice, Rats
We provide medical and surgical care and limited husbandry services (nail trims, clipping of mats, etc.). Referrals to Easter Exotic Veterinary Centre or Stahl Exotic Animal Veterinary Service (SEAVS) can be arranged if needed.
Hedgehogs, Chinchillas, Ferrets
We provide limited primary care services for these species and recommend EEVC or SEAVS for more advanced medical or surgical care. We also provide humane euthanasia services.
As of April, 2012, we are no longer accepting new avian patients. However, as a courtesy, we will continue to provide limited medical care as well as routine husbandry (wing trim, nail trim, beak trim) for birds of any clients for whom we have provided this service in the past. We strongly recommend EEVC or SEAVS for routine medical and surgical care.
Reptiles, Amphibians, Sugar Gliders, Spiders
We provide neither routine medical or surgical care, nor routine husbandry services. See SEAVS. For humane reasons, we will provide euthanasia services on a case by case basis (must speak with a doctor first).
Primates, farm animals, birds of prey, and non-domesticated mammals such as raccoons, skunks, large cats, wolves, and other potential rabies carriers.
We provide no services for these animals. Non-domesticated mammals must be referred to Loudoun County Animal Services for care.
Wildlife (songbirds, rabbits, squirrels, chipmunks, etc.)
Wildlife should be taken to a local licensed rehabilitator. If a rehabilitator is not available, or if the animal appears gravely injured, it may be dropped off for initial treatment and later release or referral to a rehabilitator. Baby bunnies generally should not be removed from their environment since they do poorly as orphans.
