Dr. McKinnon is a 2022 graduate of St. George’s University, Grenada West Indies and completed her clinical training at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine.
For as long as she could remember, Dr. McKinnon has always had a strong passion for every animal big and small and that she knew her path would be in the field of veterinary medicine. Being from a Navy family, she has lived in multiple countries and once returning to the United States, the Northern Virginia/Maryland area has always been considered more of her “home”.
Before pursuing veterinary school, Dr. McKinnon started working in the veterinary field back in 2010 and later became a Licensed Veterinary Technician and worked in both general practice and emergency/specialty medicine. With the encouragement of her colleagues and family, she then pursued a dual major in both her veterinary degree and a master’s in public health. Dr. McKinnon enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine especially internal medicine, urgent care, preventative care, and geriatric medicine.
In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, spending time with friends and family, and spending time in the great outdoors. She currently shares her house with 3 bratty kitties (Isla, Katya, and Myla) and her old man German Shepherd, Moose. Dr. McKinnon is looking forward to helping with your fur baby’s needs
